1090 12 St. Gallery (The Project Room) was established in Vero Beach, Florida in 2009 for the purpose of promoting Latin American, American and European contemporary art. In 2010, the Gallery embarked on a challenging project: the dissemination of contemporary art on a local and international level. The Project Room opened its doors in Vero Beach with an ambitious art program focusing on research and artist selection with a clearly defined curatorial approach: The project holds two permanent programs: one dedicated to artists that have significantly influenced the development of local contemporary art, and the other to young emerging artists and new media. The programs have been structured with the intent of presenting exhibitions that act as new tendencies to capturing artistic diversity and, aesthetic manifestation of poetical narrative, eco-art, and reflective processes, consequently contributing to the dissemination of important alternative artistic production. The Project Room aims at introducing new artists to local and international audiences and establishing a vital exchange between emerging contemporary artists, a new generation of art collectors, and local and global art institutions.
